Windows 7 “No Internet Access” and Adobe CS Bonjour
While installing Adobe CS on my brand new installation of Windows 7 on my desktop, I’ve encountered a strange “No Internet Access” problem with Internet connection. The Internet connection randomly wasn’t available on wired desktop with Windows 7 or on all wireless PC’s and Mac’s. It almost made me format my drive again and put Vista back in place :).
After a 20 minutes of googling I’ve finally found a fix for my internet access problem, which turned out to be pretty simple.
Cause of no access to internet (with router or without it) is Adobe CS3 Bonjour DNS Responder Service. It’s basically Adobe Updater, which can be switched off in Adobe Reader update properties. More secure way is to turn off Bonjour service in Services window :).
Step by step instructuons:
- Go to Services window: press Windows Orb (Start button), type services.msc and press Enter. You will see Services list :).
- Locate strange service with a nice name ##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762 ## (it should be first in a list normally).
- Click on it to open Properties dialog.
- In General tab select Disabled in Startup type. Press Stop button too in Service Status to stop the service from running right now.
- Now disable and enable again your network controller. You must be done with Bonjour service and be able to connect to inernet :).
- Restart if you still cannot connect :).
