Can people scroll?

There is a strange belief amongst some of my clients, that people in general cannot scroll pages. That after a quick look on the first page most of visitors leave the page and never come back, so all the content that matters should fit on the first page (so you end up with tiny 770×420 or a bit better 960×550 px space).

This is a total bullshit :). Believe my long-long web development experience, people can scroll and they scroll almost every time they see a site. Nowadays scrolling is a subconscious thing, so there is no need to try to fit all discounts, promotions, company info and free mailing lists in the tiny square on the top. The best thing you can do is to arrange important content in a right way and with plenty of margin space for eyes to rest.

So let people scroll freely and don’t waste your time for useless marketing :).

PS. Mailing lists do not work no more ;)…

Typo3 horror.

typo3

Typo3 is the most complicated, hard to understand, messy, absolutely not user friendly, slow and badly designed CMS I have ever seen and used (a little bit). I cannot understand people who choose it for their sites. STAY AWAY :)!!!
